I'm not one with a strong appetite for people who are predominantly negative.
Unfortunately, sometimes, some people equate negativity with darkness.
However, the darkness I'm referring to in my post today is not a darkness of negativity.
Rather, it is a darkness of concentration, a darkness of meditation, a darkness of healing.
For most of human history, every plant we've eaten, every child we've given birth to - each and everyone - has required darkness - prior to being introduced to the spotlight of life.
Plants needed the darkness of the Earth's soil.
Fetuses needed the darkness of the Mother's womb.
Even photo images needed the darkness of a development room.
Before each was ready for the world, each needed "dark time".
Likewise, when we've injured ourselves and need a bit of re-birthing, a bit of re-development we, too, benefit from the healing properties resident in the darkness - in temporarily removing ourselves from the spotlight. This removal time is an opportunity to heal and to renew. Even the most damaged of us can renew ourselves if we don't have to face an unending spotlight, constant reliving of the injury, and unrealistic expectations as to how long healing takes.
So, I say that one of the very best things we can do for our friends is to offer them nurturing support while they're temporarily healing in the quite womb of darkness which helped produce us all...
Thanks, and Keep STRONG!!
