There are two great things I enjoyed practicing when I was younger: saxophone and hatha yoga.
Candidly, I started practicing hatha yoga so that it could help me become a better saxophonist. (Just 4 months before my 20th birthday, I started practicing yoga to improve my breathing capacity, digital flexibility, and digital strength)
Indeed, as I reflect on the deepest periods of practice, practice didn't feel like practice, at all!
Discipline wasn't something forced on me but, rather, something I ENJOYED!
Discipline leads to brilliance.
Not someone else's brilliance. YOUR brilliance! PERSONAL brilliance for YOU! Brilliance within your personal set of skills.
I interpret brilliance as FREEDOM.
Likewise in business: business discipline helps creates business brilliance.
So, what does the lack of business discipline create?
1. Chaos
2. Weakness
3. Missed opportunities
4. Poverty (lack of money)
5. A disastrous future
Discipline doesn't have to be hard.
Discipline is made EASY when you LOVE what you do.
I never struggled with the disciplined time frames of my saxophone and yoga practices. It was easy getting up even at the seemingly ungodly hour of 4 AM - EVERY DAY - for SEVEN YEARS.
So, when it came to those two great loves of my life, I felt brilliant, I felt free in doing anything which I commanded myself to do. Virtually the full range of the saxophone and the full range of physical yoga exercises were within my reach.
So, to the question: If discipline creates brilliance, what does the lack of discipline create?
Thanks, and Keep STRONG!!
