Email Marketing - Art And Science!

These days, we recognize easily, that email has become a vital element in our business. Not only does it allow us to send and receive information to and from our customers and suppliers, it opens the door for us to provide valuable and timely information to customers and prospective customers alike who want to know more about our topic of business. Unfortunately, while marketing by email can seem like the simple easy way to keep in touch - and it is - it is also fraught with danger for those wh… Continue

Economics, Human Potential, and Wasted Opportunity.

I just posted this over at TeamCircle and thought I'd run it by you guys too. Okay so here is a situation that causes me alternatively to be outraged, feeling helpless and irritated at the lack of logic in the situation. It is a story of a single individual, but I know that there are lots of individuals in this same boat, and there has to be an answer to it, though I'm not sure what that is right now. Perhaps together we can think of something. A middle manager in banking, is in his late 40s… Continue

Small Business Online - MerchantCircle Helps

One of the great unknown factors when we get our website online at last, is how to make it as 'visible' to the search engines as possible. In a way, the content and the layout is very important. Have we got good information flow? Is everything that should be shown on the website covered, and is it optimized for the search engines to find it? Looking around at some so-called business sites, it is frankly, not the case, for many small operators. Many are poorly designed, or littered with spellin… Continue

Sticky Topics and Dirty Toilets

A friend sent me a snippet to a news item that he spied at Slashdot with the catchy quotation guaranteed to pique my interest in the absurd. "Here's a fascinating international discussion on the public toilets in Seattle", he prefaced the quote. "I'm not going to lie: I used to smoke crack in there," said one homeless woman, Veronyka Cordner, nodding toward the toilet behind Pike Place Market. "But I won't even go inside that thing now. It's disgusting." Slashdo… Continue

Online Social Networks, Prospecting And Getting Real.

From time to time the question has arisen about social networks being a place to not only share experience and information, but also from which to procure clients. Frankly, to me this has never seemed a likely outcome, and that's fine with me, I see it as something other than that. Perhaps it is because the kinds of clients that I typically work with are running bricks and mortar businesses and spend no time networking online and participating in online forums. The other difference I've… Continue

"How Might Business Coaching Help Me?"

Sometimes we think we know what things are. We know what business planning is, we know what business coaching is. Well, actually, there are as many ideas on what these things are in practical terms, as there are people to ask the question. Usually the best way to find out ... is to find out. A Discovery Session can do that. Then you really will Know. Continue

Better Networking

I've found that the more social networks I join, many of the members are connected with me at one venue, but not others. With this in mind, I wanted to let you know where else you can connect with me if you would like to. Please feel free to connect with me on any of the social networking platforms that we share, if we are not connected already. It is amazing how much a different platform can open up discussions that may not have occured at another. Some are more casual, some more rigid in the… Continue

Business Help - A Checklist

I just added a new checklist for visitors to one of my sites to use as a quick reference for things that they need help with. Sometimes it is just hard to know where to start, and for those who have never worked with a coach before, it can be hard to think in the moment, just what we need. Hopefully this will help as a prompt.
