- As founder and owner, International Screening Solutions (ISS) www.intlscreening.com Terry brings more than 18 years investigative, 10 years executive operations experience in international employee screening. He was most recently nominated by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners, (NAPBS) as Chairman, International Provider Committee charged with authoring the first set of best practices and guidelines for all international screening providers within the US and international background reporting industry.
Now, more than ever, global employers need expert information and anaysis about international privacy and data protection issues. At least 66 countries have established privacy legislations that are often even more restrictive than U.S. personal privacy laws.
The challenge for many global organizations is first how to develop and implement a globally acceptable (legally compliant) background check program and how to conduct these checks given the surprisingly complex and varied legal, cultural differences, and means available to access information abroad; to overly simplify can be a risky proposition at best.
ISS was founded to address the emerging need for expert global employee screening for today’s global marketplace. We work with multinational organizations to first understand many of the cultural and practical issues around instituting international background check programs. Through this we provide Human Resource related risk assessments, including analysis of global data sources, international background screening, FCRA compliance, Data Protection Laws, and Human Resource data issues. Once an organization has developed thier global hiring program we are then able to help them pre-screen candidates from many parts around the world.
International employee screening is not a “one size fits all” proposition. Each and every country is completely different. ISS provides access to the largest range of internationally compliant background investigation resources from around the globe.
