- Shawn Martinbrough’s client list includes Coca Cola/POWERade, LucasArts, Playboy, Vibe, Bad Boy Entertainment, Black Enterprise, Penguin Books and Milestone Media. The bulk of his work has been done for DC Comics, Vertigo and Marvel Comics, illustrating stories ranging from Batman to the X-Men.
In 2007, The Nielsen Company published How to Draw Noir Comics, an instructional book based on Shawn’s high contrast noir style.
His current project is “Ayre Force”, an 80 page hardcover graphic novel for the media company BODOG Entertainment.
Shawn’s work has been covered by USA Today, Architecture Magazine, The Washington Times, The Washingtonian, National Public Radio, Black Entertainment Television, Vibe, The Source, AintItCoolNews.com and others.
Using his vision for storytelling, Shawn co-founded VERGE Entertainment. With extensive backgrounds in the comic book and gaming industries, the VERGE partners are currently developing projects for film and television. Film projects produced by VERGE Entertainment have been featured in The American Black Film Festival, The Washington, DC International Film Festival, The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festivals, Urban Mediamakers Film Festival and others.

Hello everyone,
I'm helping my book publicist spread the word about my new art instructional book, "How to Draw Noir Comics: The Art and Technique of Visual Storytelling".
In addition to all new black and white artwork, it contains previously published work from DC Comics, Vertigo and Marvel Comics. This is my first book, released through Watson-Guptill Publications and The Nielsen Company.
