- About Me:
- I'm a report developer/analyst in Chicago. My career is a second chance start for me. Over the last 20 years I've kind of reinvented myself. As a younger man, I dropped out of college after switching from pre-med to theatre (after my mother had worked two jobs to get me in... neither of us lets me forget that) and embarked on a path of free thinking embrace of all that was artistic, kicking around for a few years as an actor. On that path, you naturally become a bartender right? So I did that for about five or six years until I stumbled across a job as an independent delivery man. That simply means that I burned up my own cars in the pursuit of carrying small packages and envelopes all over the Chicago metropolitan area, sort of the Han Solo of the Chicagoland interstates! Move forward 10 years and I'm still in the messenger industry but working in the office now, hiring and training contractors to do the same work. I'd always had a love for computers and technology and during a Microsoft Word mail merge, I had an epiphany... IT work was where I should be, so I immediately saw my way through to enrolling and completing my degree (my mother was very happy because as she said, "now YOU are paying for this"), a BS in Computer Information Systems. Five years later, I find my self now a database analyst, desiging and producing reports for my company's internal and sometimes external customers. I enjoy it; I love data mining, and data warehousing concepts. I'm currently working on a certification in report design, and will probably end up going back to school (hopefully before I'm 70.) But my true passion after all of these years is something else that I had picked up as a child... TENNIS! Anyplace, anywhere I love to play and I've gotten to be a pretty good hacker! It's funny but I find myself in probably the same position I would have been in let's see... 20 YEARS AGO, but I guess it took one hell of a side trip to get here! I'm grateful for all of it (my life, my wife, my 11 yr old cat Sam who has just shaken his head at me in disdain of all human since he was a kitten) but I'm especially grateful for whatever happens next... whatever that is... it's all about abundance and understanding what that is, you know? :)

I grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Harlan High School. Attended Roosevelt U as well as Northeastern IL U. Worked the Cook County Public Defender's Office and Motorola before relocating to Raleigh, NC in 2007.
