It's About Linking Power!
2 Friends, 2 Countries, 2 Days, 2 Strokes...
Admittedly, I've been privileged to get to know some great people during my recruiting and networking lives.
Ironically, within the past 2 days, 2 of my favorite people, living in 2 different countries have shared with me that they had strokes.
(What's even more interesting is that both shared with me that their strokes happened at one of the lowest periods in my life during 2008. Was it something in our astrological signs - OR WHAT??? :-))
As I listened to the similarities in both their tales, it occurred to me that perhaps I should remind you to make sure that while we're building up these communities and writing our books and marketing our services that we should take just a wee bit of time to go check on our health.
Like me, both men are proverbial workaholics.
Both men noticed a precipitous inability to speak.
Both were fortunate to go directly to the hospital.
But fortunately, both men have recovered and seem to have regained their strength and their ability to communicate. (Both are highly communicative men so, it's good to hear them both running their mouths in casual conversation again. (I hope and pray you ENJOY EACH CONVERSATION you have with your close friends/family members.)
Let's just remember we're just mortals- - - mortals who need to take care of ourselves.
By way of introduction for those who don't know what it is, "A stroke is the rapidly developing loss of brain functions due to a disturbance in the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain. This can be due to ischemia (lack of blood supply) caused by thrombosis or embolism or due to a hemorrhage. As a result, the affected area of the brain is unable to function, leading to inability to move one or more limbs on one side of the body, inability to understand or formulate speech or inability to see one side of the visual field.[1] In the past, stroke was referred to as cerebrovascular accident or CVA, but the term "stroke" is now preferred." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke
