It's About Linking Power!

We all use search engines.

Most of us use Google most.

However, suppose you got search results but, didn't know whether the BEST results for you came from Google, Yahoo, or Bing?

BlindSearch.Fejus.com does that for us.

I just typed in my Linkedin, Twitter, and Facebook ID's as "VincentWright"

The results came out here: http://blindsearch.fejus.com/?q=VincentWright&type=web

I was surprised that the results I preferred were NOT from Google!

You should try it: http://blindsearch.fejus.com

Thanks, and Keep STRONG!!

Vincent,

This is a great question to be raising. I just tried the blind search site and still like Google the best. Although, I was pleasantly surprised that Yahoo was a strong second.

Thanks for asking,

My pleasure, Mona. I was surprised that I chose a search engine other than Google. (Though, when not using BlindSearch, I'll still go to what I use 99.999% of the time: Google...)

Hi Vincent, nice find! In fact, I just blogged about it as a result: http://aces.arbita.net/blog/use-blind-search-to-prove-which-search-...

But I think you drew the wrong conclusion in your follow-up comment: using a tool like this should help you determine that it doesn't make sense to go to the same search engine 99.999% of the time. Test several kinds of searches and you may find that Yahoo is better for some things, Google for others, and Bing yet for others. Then, when pressed for time, you'll know which to try first!

Hi, Glenn,
Thanks for the kind words in your article - just tweeted it to my friends: http://twitter.com/VincentWright/status/3219039830

A quick note to clarify: the conclusion in my follow-up comment is primarily to emphasize general "habit" in my pattern. When searching more professionally, I a variety of engines/means. (Just the way you and Shally would encourage! :-) )

I do like using others such as Copernic, hakiz, Zabasearch, and particularly Kartoo.

For those interested, there's a pretty good list of search engines here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_search_engines

Hope you are well - and, as always, good to have you hanging with us on MyLinkingPowerForum.com

Keep STRONG, Glenn!

Hi Vincent, great suggestion. I have tried this once before and just tried it again. Google was tops in my search with bing coming in a very strong second. Yahoo was last. I do like bing a lot - It has been interesting to see the interest rise in bing as well as the bing team actively engaging with people on social networks. =)

Hi, Alisha,
The results of my informal, my personal results was: Yahoo first, Google second, and Bing was third.

By the way: For information rich results, I still prefer ww3.Kartoo.com

(You ought to type in your top five favorite web sites/ID's - - -I've never been disappointed in the results...)

Thanks, Alisha!
